Episode of AF ,Thought to share this with the group, had an ablation for flutter in 2016 ,cured my problem ,till last Wednesday.I take Apixhaban, and 1.25 Bisoprolol daily .
For over a year now have cut the Bisoprolol in half ,just taking the half ,last week decided to try stop completely,Monday ,Tuesday, Wednesday morning felt my heart race ,up to 140 b p m and irregular. Started to panic ,which made things worse.
I took a 1.25 mg Bisoprolol out of desperation, within an hour I was back to normal.
Saw doctor in the afternoon, blood pressure ok and b p m 80 and regular, which is about right for me usually between 70/80. Have a general cardio appointment inJuly ,
But looks like I need to stay on the Bisoprolol, could have been another reason I suppose ,but was dreading a visit to A& E,anyone else had the same happen ??

So sorry that your AF came back i hope you are OK now that you are back on the Bisraprol, can i just ask was it your decision to come of them completely?
Yes think you are right ,you would think about half of 1.25 mg is nothing but it obviously is ,now taking the 1.25 daily again ,if it keeps me ok ,I will keep taking it ,horrible condition isn't it never knowing when it will take over again .
Hi Sorry to hear about your A/F return, I have a similer problem, I was Diagnosed with PAF last year and had an ablation that went wrong, (a Tampanade) So recovered and let the A/F run its course, seemed to get worse,as it does and saw a new E/P who diagnosed it as flutter.
Went in two weeks ago and had it ablated and all seems OK, he took me of the Bisoprolol but in the last few days the A/F seems to have come back, when I can see its A/F I take a PIP which is Verapamil. its all a bit hit or miss due to my only using a blood pressure machine which does not differentiate between Etopics or A/F. The point I am making is try the pill in the pocket if you go into A/F as I have been told.
Thanks for that ,stuck with the Bisoprolol for the time being ,seems it's a very hard beta blocker to come off .Was taking Verapamil before my Ablation ,had no problems with it at all .On seeing another cardiologist he changed me to the Bisoprolol, wish he hadn't .
Taken 1.25 bisoprolol every day for last 3 yrs dr has suggested I come off it to see what effect it has not to keen to do that as am in permanent af. Also been told an ablation will not help as it needs to be done very soon after the very first episode and I've had af for 10yrs
