From the Wizard of Oz. Dorothy and the Lion, Tin man etc. were walking along the yellow brick road singing "We're off to see the Wizard. 2 Policemen stood in front of them and said "NO YOU'RE F****** NOT".

Ah, that's me too, so you are not really alone. Me and the dog cooped up indoors, but I'm used to it and having just recently retired.....it's all fine!

The police had no right to stop Dorothy, the lion or tin man walking along the yellow brick road.

The Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 clearly states subject to subsections (3) to (5), a constable shall only have powers of arrest if it's an indictable offence (section 32). They could search Dorothy but not stop access to the yellow brick road.

They could however stop them if they wanted to seize alcohol and tobacco under section 163 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and under the Police Reform Act 2002. This would only apply if Dorothy (or the lion / tin man) were driving. It was clear they were not.

IMO the police were abusing their powers.
