Hi I was Kia68 on old tablet also changed email as it all went pear shaped on said old tablet. But I'm the same old me. Had cryo ablation early Dec19. After a bumpy first 3 weeks it has settled down and since then only a few skipped beats. Talked to arythmia nurse via phone today and he was pleased with progress. Discussed medication and he said to half Bisoprolol dosage.. to 5 mg.. for 3 months and if all still good to halve it again with the idea of giving it up altogether. He said best to stay on Apixiban for the time being. Alcohol was mentioned and advice was to keep it below 7 units a week, about 3 pints, but as I have a taste for alcohol free beer I don't think I'll bother. I'll update in another 3 months.

Four month update after Ablation
Sounds like your doing well,
Good luck for the future
Hi, good to hear you are progressing well. I had my cryo ablation in mid December and like you had a bumpy 3 weeks with long episodes much more symptomatic than anything I'd experienced pre ablation. In the last 4 weeks I've tried to live as normal life as possible, exercising, gardening and decorating etc and have listened to my body when it complains. Episodes have still occurred but in general they are completely random and last from minutes to a couple of hours but in all cases I feel slightly nauseous and weak which again were not a reaction I had before the procedure. Its hard to understand how I should behave during this period especially in the current climate as I want to keep my mind and body as healthy as possible by being active. My wife tells me I should just accept its going to happen and do what I want and I'm a worrier and hold back probably obsessing about it a little too much. I dont have a further review for 9 months so the balls in my court for now and I'm grateful to have this site to talk to folks in the same situation
Glad to hear things are going so well for you.
Delighted to hear things are going well-long may it continue.
Be prepared for a bumpy ride when you come off Bisoprolol - I came off 1.25mg very slowly and still had side effects; not AF but high heart rate.
It is surprising how a taste can be developed for alcohol-free beer or low-alcohol beer. My husband started drinking a French low-alcohol beer from Lidl (2.4 percent I think) and now he doesn't drink any other beer. He tried all the other more expensive low-alcohol beers and maintains this one is the best.
Sounds like you are doing well. Like you I had a cyroablation. December 19. I was due for my 3 month check up March 13th. However as I had a really bad cough I phoned to check if I was ok to still have it, understandably I was told no and so it was cancelled. I now have an appointment for September a delay of 9 months.
Understandably I'm disappointed, however I feel well, still have one or two episodes of AF. a month. I feel so much better than how I felt a year ago..... Permanent AF. tired all the time, palpatations, breathlessness, etc. I am just relieved I can manage. I wait to be told about medication. I
In my 6th year free of AF since a successful ablation at Leeds. I stayed on Apixaban which seems to be generally recommended but I also stayed with bisoprolol - albeit the low dose of 1.25mg. I have to say I never had any side effects from bisoprolol though I was never on any dosage higher than 5mg and, over the years, I have become rather fond of my slow, steady and reassuring heartbeat. Why would I want to rock the boat? Your choice of course and if you are having unpleasant side effects of course, you may be glad to see the back of bisoprolol. Good luck.
