I have been diagnosed with a.f. And prescribed angitil and Endoxaban.
I am a bit worried to take the Endoxaban, blood thinner, has anyone any positivety about this product.

Anticoagulants are prescribed to protect you from stroke which you are more likely to get with AFib. I am not on that particular type but am on Eliquis and have been for the last 3 years with no problems. I hope someone comes along later who has experience with this particular type of anticoagulant.
Been taking it for several months now since experiencing problems with Riveroxaban. We are all different when it comes to tolerating these meds but I have not had any side effects or problems. Other more knowledgeable forum members will say more about the need for anticoagulants when you have AF but just remember there are alternatives if you do experience any issues with Endoxaban. Stay safe and well. Liz
Thank-you for replying ,I might start taking it tonight, when you read the side effects . Maybe we shouldn’t read them
I think its important to read and be aware of possible side effects but remember these are not side effects for everyone just what a percentage of users have reported- and of course if you do experience any side effects you can ask to try an alternative. I do understand how you are feeling. When I was first diagnosed it was the anti coagulant that worried me most - its the worry about bleeding I think - but I’m pretty clumsy and regularly cut myself in the kitchen and garden and I’ve had teeth out since starting them and have been fine - no excessive bleeding at all. I’m sure you will find one to suit you and personally the thought of a stroke worries me more.
Thank you . I feel a bit more reassured.
Stop calling them blood thinners and most of the fear goes away. Anticoagulants do not thin blood at all but merely slow down the clotting process to help prevent the stroke which AF makes us five times more at risk of.
Please take them as prescribed You can always stop but you can't undo a stroke.
I have been on warfarin for over 16 years with zero problems. Got more with aspirin!
All have some side affects but most far out wayed by the positives, I’ve been on apixaban for a couple of years suffer from the odd headache , but mentally happier
Hi I've been in Edoxiban for a year now with no issues whatsoever. I am a DIY fanatic and have cut myself a few times. It takes a little longer to stop bleeding but does sort itself out reasonably quickly. Not taking it is far more risky in my opinion
Thank you .as you say it sounds horrific .but it is few and far between the side effects. Ì am going to start them tonight.
Three years on Edoxaban, no issues, just once a day is a bonus.
Hi, I was on warfarin for several years but got changed to edoxaban last year and I can honestly say that I haven't had any problems with the change over, bonus is it's only checked every year instead of every 2-3 weeks, just couldn't get the warfarin to keep stablised. Hope this info helps though be aware everyone is different ❤❤
The prescribed anti-coagulant drug is the most important thing to take if you have AF! The anti coagulant will protect you from stoke risk
