As many as your EP is prepared to do ! Some have had 6....rather unusual but 3/4 is relatively common.

Thanks for the reply, I’m just curious, since afib has no cure, and ablation is the only possible treatment that we can hope for to keep afib at bay for a long time without meds .... if we get lucky enough.

I was reading on Chrome News today that a new 3D heart scanner is being tested.

It has a 20% higher accuracy rate in identifying the source of the rogue pulse.

The current method has difficulty in identifying the pulses behind the heart while this new scanner is 3D.

I've had 5 between July 2014 and January 2019. 2 for PAF, 2 for flutter and 1 for both lasting a long time.

I was also told there was a 6th on the table if one small area the EP couldn't isolate continued to persist.

I have had 3. I am a tricky case apparently. Last one was epic. It helped though but i am tachycardia a lot. Prof schilling reluctant to do anymore now. Me too. Might have av node ablate some time. But dont feel the constant af crashing around now so may not need it.
