I have a yearly delivery pass and have an internet delivery of food from Sainsburys every 7/10 days or so. I went on line yesterday to do my usual shopping and cannot get a delivery slot for 3 weeks plus. This seems so unfair to people who have bought a delivery for a year and find driving to their nearest shop plus carrying the heavy goods difficult.
I am quite an active 86 year old but delivery of heavy goods is a boon.

I think loyal customers like you should have been given priority. How about giving your local store a call to see if they can help get your order to you earlier?
Definitely contact them - Tesco’s responded to complaints from regular customers about being unable to book for Christmas some years ago and that resulted in priority week for season customers.
Sainsbury’s policy will be determined centrally, so it might be a good idea to contact their central customer service people too.
I have just heard from my brother's first wife (he's currently with his third) who lives in Portsmouth area and has COPD and the delivery times there are 5 weeks. Really useful.
