Neck Trigger?

Hi again everyone. I suffer from very intermittent AF (the last episode was on Boxing Night and lasted 36 hours - nothing since). I’m now in the middle of an episode which started at 1030 last night, some 8 hours ago. I read and watched a very interesting link/ article by an American chiaropractor on here about neck problems triggering attacks. About 30 years ago I was diagnosed with a spike of arthritis in between 2 vertebrae in my neck which was treated with medication, acupuncture, exercise etc. It caused me all sorts of weird and unpleasant nervous sensations including panic attacks etc and, although much better than it used to be, can still make me feel bad if my neck gets strained. Last night I used my VR headset for about 3 hours to watch a movie immediately before bed and it occurred to me this morning that this could have been the trigger - I can’t think what else it could have been as I’m careful with what I eat and drink. My neck does feel tense today so the signs would point to that being the cause. Does anyone have any thoughts please?

I started using Chiro after a car accident left me with damage in my neck after 2 vertebrae misaligned after a tendon stretched. Consultant told me I would be be ‘riddled with arthritis and in a neck brace permanently within 5 years’. Well I’m not. That was in 1993 - and I have no neck issues as long as I maintain adjustments & stretch & exercise my neck.

I’ve had episodes start during a Chiro adjustment and been to my Chiro when I’m in an episode and an adjustment stopped it - so yes it is a trigger. I am now very careful with spinal health & have regular monthly checks & practice Pilates/Yoga daily. It’s not enough to just have the adjustments - you need to strengthen the muscles supporting your spine & practice good posture.

Having said all of that - for me it can just be one of many triggers - if you have a tendency toward AF - you will have AF episodes.

Best wishes CD

Any inflamaation in your body has the possibility to start an AF event if you have that predisposition. Many people consider AF is a symptom rather than a conditionas we know what but not why.

Thanks all. The episode appears to be more eptoptic than AF as my heartbeat is predominantly steady at around 60-70 bpm resting but with a bunch of extra beats either singly or groups of 2-3 in between every 3rd or 4th beat. It seems to be settling down thankfully but still sometimesfeels like my hearts become loose in its mountings and rattling a bit! LOL

Hi Sebanelli, my theory on AF is that it is not one thing that causes it for most of us but a 'cocktail of bad lifestyle habits' that pushes our body over the brink. In the early days, I always needed to support my neck when sitting in a chair not so necessary now, so yes neck is important as it is that narrow part where the Vagus Nerve is easily pressured. Also scary, violent or emotional TV is out at night for the foreseeable future.

Sorry for the late reply. I am on vacation in Malaysia and have not been following posts. Even at home, I have not been very much either.

I have been messing around with back issues for about 6 years. I have confirmed many times, with recordings, that these issues start and stop AF. Fixing the spine is not easy. Chiro can help but may not be the full solution. Lately, I have learned that nerves get damaged and need to be healed. There are a couple of challenges to do this. One is getting blood supply to the nerves and the other is removing irritation. Chiro can help with irritation maybe. PEMF can help with getting the blood platelets into nerve capillaries to feed it nutrients to help it heal. Then there are frequencies that help heal the nerve. For nerves it is 2 Hz. Some PEMF devices can generate the right frequencies. But like all medical devices not everyone is equal or effective. And these can be expensive. I have found one that probably works. I just purchased it but only used it for a short time and do not have it with me. But I do have my Scenar device and it can generate 2 Hz so I just started trying it.

There is likely still lots to be learned about energy and frequencies and how they affect our electrical bodies. Here are a few that could interest some of you:

2 Hz. - nerve regeneration

7 Hz - Bone growth

10 Hz - Ligament healing

15, 20 Hz - Stimulation capillary formation

And for all who know about healers in China and some other countries, 0 - 30 Hz are the frequencies our bodies emit.

PEMF is the 5th element of health after oxygen, food, the sun, and water.

Unfortunately, heart doctors are not now focusing on any of this.

I have wondered how drugs given to us affect a healthy heart. If indeed the AF is caused by nerve issues in the spine, then do the drugs help or hinder the heart symptoms.

This subject is a bit of a reprieve from the usual topics.
