I use a lot of sunflower seeds - I add them to salads, my overnight oats, in smoothies, in the topping of berry crumbles and I put together a trail mix for snacks. My AF has been well controlled since my last ablation but I know eating healthy, including lots of seeds and nuts helps keep things under control.

I add a level dessert spoon of sunflower and another of pumpkin seeds to my home made muesli each morning. Couldn't really say if it helps my AF or not. Have been doing it for over a year and went into constant AF at the start of last November.

Do you take any medication for your AF? I'm on 2 x 50mg Flecainide and 2 x 12.5 Metoprolol and 4mg of Warfarin.

Hi, I'm taking 4 mg warfarin also clopidogral and bisoprolol. I feel fine but I am aware of the odd flutter at night time so I may try the 🌻 sunflower seeds. I have permanent AF for eight years

and through the day I am unaware that I have it!

Hi yes that’s when I feel mine but I’ve been keeping a diary since beginning of January when I started the seeds and I have noticed a decrease in flutters !!!🌻🌻

I looked up clopidogral on Google and it says it is an antiplatelet medication . Others on this blog and ,I think, I read that antiplatelet drugs such as aspirin are not good for AF. It would be helpful to know when they should be used for AF.

Put sunflower and pumpkin seeds on my muesli, and snack on them too, ever since I found out they contain a lot of magnesium (supposed to be good for AF). Not sure if they help or not... but I like to think so. 👍

I eat lots of seeds. Sunflower, pumpkin, flax, etc. Don’t know if they help or not but don’t think they can do any harm and might do some good.

I haven't paid attention to any changes in heart arrhythmias , but probably positive effects, for sure! I did lose weight, because I replaced bad snacks for seeds, plus I increased my walk time. My cholesterol levels also dropped significantly, which was a great side effect!

Pumpkin seeds seem to work for me. Evidently rich in Magnesium. But do add sunflower seeds in a Omega seed mix when making bread.

What difference in heart rate did you observe? e.g., down to 90 from 100? thanks for sharing.

Nuts and seeds are high in magnesium. Magnesium is great for heart health and AF. Many here take magnesium supplements with good results with reducing AF episodes and their severity. So yes!
