Corticosteroids and ectopics

So for the last week I have had a real bout of ectopic beats morning, noon and night.

Like most people I get the occasional one but this is really different , noticeable and very distracting. Spoke to my excellent cardiologist who again reminded me that ectopics are generally a problem more of a nuisance. So I went up to the hospital this morning to have a 24 hour monitor fitted. Light bulb moment at breakfast though. For the last couple of months I have had sinus problems so a week ago my GP put me on Vistamethasone nose drops three times a day. Cleared up the sinuses perfectly but it now seems too much of a coincidence that the ectopics and the drops are together. Last drops last night, so no idea how long it takes to get out of my system. Anyone any views given I have friends who have palpitations and ectopics and have been told to stop using their steroid inhalers...and these are drops not a mist / spray.

Correction “not a problem more of a nuisance “

I don’t have experience of Vistamethasone but Salbutamol and a decongestant whose name I’ve just forgotten can both act on the heart. I hope your conclusion is correct and your heart becomes less irritable as the drug disappears from your system
