Received my first checkup letter today and it is a good letter. One bit I’m not sure about and hoping someone knows. It refers to the echo and says amongst other things - mild MR, Trace TR -. I checked the full report of echo I had prior to ablation to compare and there it says - There is trace mitral regurgitation. There is trace tricuspid regurgitation. -
I had the echo before ablation at my local hospital to save me travelling to Liverpool Heart hospital where I had ablation.
Is there a difference between mild and trace MR? Could it be down to the 2 different hospitals? Could it be because one is full report and one a letter? etc. I know it’s nothing serious and normal/common for my age and with Afib as well but just want to know if it means I’ve gone from trace to mild (if there is a difference) in those 5.5 months between the 2 echo’s
Thanks all

Mild mitral regurgitation trace tricuspid ditto. Dr Gupta once said that mild and trace were very similar and depended a lot on the operator as it was quite subjective. I wouldn't worry Francis.
Thanks Bob. Not worried, just being nosy and wanting to understand. Out of interest I watched Dr Gupta video. Very interesting as all his I’ve seen are.
