Cardiologist said keep taking the tablets are me in 3 months ?.

Good to hear from you. All sounds very confusing heartready2go, but as long as you are OK, that’s all that matters. I’m wondering if you had an echocardiogram, were you in a darkened room and did they run a slightly lubricated sensor over the front and back of body, near to where your heart is located?
I know it might be difficult for you, but it would help us to help you if you read your posts before sending. If things are not clear, we might end up giving the wrong advice......good luck.
my question now is I don't think pill in pocket any good for me as my af only lasts 5 agonising frightening hours, then reverts to normal until the next event.
I beleve pill in pocket takes longer than that to work.
I can't use PIP so can't comment. It is strange they couldn't find anything helpful to do at the time but I have heard of people who have definitely expected an ablation but the EP couldn't find where the rogue signal was coming from. I hope you find some medication that helps but relaxation techniques are also very helpful.
Very strange that they told you they were planning an ablation.
In my experience that type of decision is not made in the cath lab but without that environment after other tests and scans.
Non of my ablations took less than 5 hours so my conclusion is that it was indeed best they did not proceed.
You should have not been put through all that stress and therefore I suggest you do a lot of reading on this forum and on the AFA Website between now and your next outpatient appointment.
At your appointment, armed with more knowledge of the subject ask lots of questions and don’t be fobbed off with lack of communication.
It's lovely to hear from you heartready2go, thank you for coming back to let us know what happened. What good news to know that you have a strong heart. Sometimes that's all we need to hear. How are you feeling now?
I am much more settled today. I am suprised I have heart pain as I did not have any burning off. just the study however it's not to bad and my gron is all good. thank u for your concern I'm new to all of this and feel quite vunrable to it all.
I can't understand if my heart is sound but my electrics are not why did they not do ablation.
the cardiologist said he could se no abnormality and my hear was remarkably sound.
today my groin a tiny bit sore I have heart pain sore but bearable.
had visitors but found the excitement of chatting put more preasure on so I came for a lay down. I felt I was going to go into afib so I bailed out. ok now I'm aying down
I was told to stay on meds go back in 3 months ( wich will prob turn into 5 months to talk about pill in pocket.
hello, I had an ablation about 10 weeks ago, in hospital for several days before but didn"t have an episode so they decided to do the ablation anyway. I believe they can make it happen to see the rogue problem. Unfortunately other areas started to fire up so wasn"t totally successful. Best wishes to you.
Thank you so much for letting us know how you got on. We’ve been thinking of you and it’s great to hear you’re ok. And that your heart is looking good too
It must be frustrating after all the stress of being told you were having an ablation, to find it was just a check on the electrics after all. But the good news is that they were pleased with what they found. That’s reassuring at least
I hope that you heal up well from the procedure and the sedation/anaesthetic, and that AF events don’t trouble you. Do let us know how you get on.
So the good news is your heart is good. Perhaps you could give us more information about yourself and your lifestyle. Have you given yourself a check up;-
Weight, height, blood pressure? is your waist measurement half your height ?
Blood sugar levels, cholesterol levels?
Do you take regular exercise? How much? How often?
Do you smoke? Drink? Eat lots of cakes and biscuits and fried foods? Follow a healthy diet?
Push for an ablation. Pills never work long term. Your heart will change structurally the longer you’re in afib. Take it from experience. The longer you wait the less chance for successful ablation.
