HEART RATE -- SITTING VS LAYING DOWN

Do you notice any difference in your heart rate when you are sitting (watching TV, reading, at the computer) vs when you are laying down? It seems like mine goes up when I am sleeping on my right side. I have to get up 4-5 times at night to urinate, and when I first wake up my bpm is about 20 more than my normal resting sitting rate. I don't know if my bpm is always higher when I am laying down OR if it just spikes at the moment I am woken up. Any thoughts?

Why are you checking it? Our heart rates vary considerably thoughout the day and night and worrying will just exacerbate this and create more worry. When I get up to go to the loo in the night mine goes up.

I don't worry about it, I just like to check it every so often. I cannot feel when I am in AFib, so I like checking for it once in a while.

If you cannot often feel when you are in A/Fib lucky old you. Why worry about it?I would imagine you only need to worry if you get unpleasant symptoms. I would think that even if you are in A/Fib and don’t know then it is less stressful for you, and less stress is good. Just let your doctor know that this is happening to you.
