Side effects headaches : Hi I’ve been... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Side effects headaches
I had to switch from bisoroprol to metraprole quite nasty side effects
Did you have bad headaches too
No but had crushing feelings sensation left side of chest, got really bad headaches first 3 weeks but went away
Yes, many people cannot tolerate Bisoprolol side effects although it seems to help some.
I was the same, the fatigue was like walking through treacle, go back to consultant and get it changed, I take Atenolol now and its like night and day.
Hello Jackie! I experienced tiredness after taking Bisoprolol (1,25 mg) some days it was hard to stay awake.
Thanks all so much I’m panicking and think I now have a brain tumour although my dr says headaches are not a sign of a tumour in first instance as soon as I’ve took my tablet hour later boom my head is pounding until about 10pm at night then it eases off dr wanted to switch them
But I’m scared Incase my bp goes up and I have worse side effects
Go back to your doctor and ask for another medication - your doctor has a choice of quite a few medications to treat your BP, Bisoprolol is just one but often the med they know best so tend to prescribe first. Be insistent and persistent, be a nuisance (I know we don’t like to be thought of that way so be a Polite Nuisance) unfortunately - she who shouts loudest, gets heard.
I’m going back on Monday because she did want to stop them and try me on another but I also have health anxiety and was petrified of the side effects of my bp would raise or if I’d have a heart attack after stopping them but I suppose she will withdraw them slowly anything gotta be better than suffering with these headaches and feeling absolutely crap all day x
My husband has had high BP all his life (it was 200/180 at one time!) which has been incredibly difficult to lower. His meds have recently been changed - he now takes low doses of 3 medications for his BP which has worked much better for him. His reading this morning was 123/70 - perfect! He is 85, fit, alert and active.
Bisoprolol alone made him unbearable so I said I’d leave him unless he changed his meds - that worked then! It’s not you - it’s the affect of the drug.
Bisoprolol didn’t agree with me either. I took it for two years not realising there were alternatives! I was tired all the time but could sleep well, couldn’t drive long distances as I would struggle to stay awake and couldn’t concentrate.
The tiredness is ruining me I have a 13 yr old sun it’s Christmas and I just don’t wanna do anything scared to move headaches too tired to move it’s draining. X
The side affects sending me mad and playing havoc with my anxiety x
Hi Jackiecee l have been on Losarten , Bisoprolol and Aspirin for 8 years never a problem I suppose l have been lucky , l just had to put a good word in for Bisoprolol as so many were against it, sorry to hear about your anxiety this is sometimes worse than any drug my wife will confirm this, by the way l am 81.
Thankyou so much I think maybe my anxiety and over thinking might be making my headaches so much worse but I’m gonna give them a swap and see how I feel then. X
I use Nebivolol which is much better than Bisoprolol: that awful exhaustion and fuzzy-headedness have disappeared.
Hi. I take another beta blocker which seems, touch wood, to work for me although it does make me tired. However, I was briefly switched from my normal beta blocker to bisoprolol for less than one week, and I hated it. My genius hospital doctor thought bisoprolol was "more modern" and would better target my palpitations. It did the opposite. My palpitations came back, I had chest tightness, and it was awful. So I switched back to my regular beta blocker. So, I'm guessing that some beta blockers work for some, but not all. So find the right one. And keep in mind that doctors aren't always right. If it's not working, tell your doc. If your doc isn't doing anything about it, find another.
