Question about heart
Slightly enlarged upper left heat chamber of heart after 4 Ablation procedures
Because it is over worked. In many cases it can return to normal if ablation stops AF.
AF is the culprit and stresses or overworks the pumping and chambers of the heart. Sorry to hear that you have had 4 ablations. After each ablation were you in normal sinus rhythm for awhile? When was your last one?
How are you feeling now and do you still have AF after your 4 ablations?
Hello
I have had 4 ablations as well and enlarged left chamber my ablations haven’t worked and now I am in persist AF
I do hope yours has worked as I have problems with 2 valves now
It is the AF
You should speak to your heart consultant about getting it under control
Good luck
A number of causes - endurance athletes often have much larger hearts but unless they detrain effectively this can lead to enlarged atria and subsequent AF; being in persistent fast AF for a long period; diseased or fibrous tissue in the atria; fatty tissue in the heart structure - ie: being overweight; drugs and alcohol - I’m sure there are a lot more causes but those are the ones I have heard of.
I gather that if the cause can be controlled or reversed then the atria will come back to normal size.
