Does anyone know what the outer container of the capsules (pradaxa, ramapril etc) is made of. They look plasticy but obviously can't be. Just I've consumed so many over the years......they're coloured as well, wish they were just white tablets.

I mentioned to my EP that I knew that Pradaxa needed an acid stomach. He said that the Pradaxa coating was especially acid too. If a capsule gets vaguely damp it will disintegrate very quickly and release a huge number of vile tasting white balls.

Pradaxa won't work properly if the shell is damaged or wet. The shell absorbs water from the atmospher. That is why there is a special blister pack on some of them and an instruction to chuck the one in a jar after it has been open for a period of time.
