Always best to check with the pharmacist but generally paracetamol is OK. Anti-inflammatories such a Ibuprofen are best avoided.....

Only one I take is Paracetamol - usually the soluble ones I find are more effective.

DON’T take any NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen as they are known to trigger AF.

I take paracetamol or co-codamol depending on severity of pain.

Not Afib related but when I was picking up my prescription from chemist yesterday a lady was buying some calpol and ibuprofen for children. Pharmacist asked if child had chicken pox but as they didn’t she didn’t enlighten parent. Being nosy I had to ask when the mum had left. Apparently you should never give a child with chicken pox ibuprofen as it can cause a serious skin infection called - necrotising fasciitis -.

You live and learn. xxx

Interesting my dentist always says "oh of course you can't take ibuprofen pity, it's very effective for tooth pain caused by inflammation"

As others have noted here. Stay away from NSAIDS which include Aspirin, Advil, Aleve, etc. I take Tylenol which has worked so far.

I'm near the end of my dose of flu. Early on the pharmacist recommended paracetamol. It worked well. I stopped as soon as the painful joints were finished.

Just as a side issue, I didn't have much of an appetite so my diet had a radical change. I wasn't thinking well, but by not eating much my potassium input changed, resulting in my INR jumping from the low 2's to almost 4......just not acceptable. A trap to be missed if possible.

Hope you feel better soon.

My INR always goes up (once to 6 with a particularly bad infection) when I am unwell. With me, food has nothing to do with it. Last week, with a heavy cold, I went up to 3.6 but I am back down just above 3 again, and am quite happy with that. Do you self-test?

No, I don't test myself, merely pop into the chemist. They take a small sample from a finger and give me the result straight away. It's a bit like the test for diabetes.

I think during my bout of flu I should have at least eaten my normal vegies to get those essential elements which are good for you plus balance with taking warfarin.

Since I read that I have taken K2 daily and have never had any real problems. I don't even think about what I eat. But please do your own research!

I often get headaches, and I take Co Codamol. It doesn't seem to trigger palps or anything, although it can cause constipation. Not sure if it's sold over the counter stateside.

My local pharmacist recommended Sterimar Breathe Easy to help with the blocked nose I

had during the night. It has been great. For pain it is always Paracetamol or Codeine as most have already said.

I am in the process of recovering from just that. Gargling with salt water helps a bit. Lots of manuka honey. I took Vit C and zinc and of course my magnesium at night. Sniffed Olbas oil, and put on rosemary and lavender diluted with almond oil. When the nose was at its worst took 1 contac which contains paracetemol and that helped. I agree with FlapJack about paracetamol being OK and anti-inflammatories a complete no-no.
