Blood pressure post ablation

Hi all, so I’m three weeks post ablation for svt and my blood pressure is a little higher than it was before. I was on beta blockers for three months prior so it was obviously really low then, but it’s higher now than pre beta blockers. Is this a post ablation thing or am I just developing high blood pressure! It’s the diastolic that’s up to 90. Thanks for any thoughts

Along with raised heart rate this sounds normal. Have you read our fact sheet on recovery? See pinned posts.

Your heart has had a lot to contend with and will take quite a few months to fully recover. Worry is your worst enemy right now.

NOT medically trained but , Don't worry - my BP was up until I realised that the afib & subsequent flutter ablations really had worked and was told i could coMe off the drugs. So despite stopping the diltiazem, my blood pressure went DOWN!

Best wishes

You are lucky. My blood pressure went down when in AF. Now after my third ablation my blood pressure is through the roof.
