So sorry to hear that- is it a drug you are on or do you think (as I sometimes do about lack of enrgy) that it is just old age! Do try breathing techniques or meditation/mindfulness.
You probably should consider going back to your GP if you are feeling so unwell Bazzar, and get matters reviewed afresh.
If I were you I would insist on a second opinion.
Have you had or been offered an echocardiogram? If not, strongly and politely request one, don't ask, it's your health, you need to manage it. Unfortunately, doctors including cardiologists, however vigilent, aren't infallible.
Hi
What ( if any) medication are you on?
Beta blockers can cause breathlessness in some people .
I strongly agree that you should get more help.
Take care
Hi Bazaar. Sorry to hear you are so breathless. I had an Ablation for Flutter 7 months ago and have been on Bisoprolol which has worked well, except I am very breathless and tired all the time. I saw my Cardiologist, who thinks it is the Bisoprolol and is arranging with my GP to change to another drug, so I am hoping that will work. Maybe a drug change would help you? Anyway do see your GP and ask for help. Good luck!
Try and find a flat path you can walk along slowly and try and establish a regularly walking pattern by along it gently for a set time every day. Try and aim for a daily mile if you can. Improving your fitness takes a lot of determination but your heart is a muscle. Keeping it toned is essential.
Hi Bazzar, if you are short of breath, that is sign something is wrong. Either make a call for a stat appointment or go to your A and E. Or Emergency room. Ask them if you need to have some oxygen started and see if that helps and then ask them to have a cardiologist see you BEFORE. You go home. I’m in the US. I’m sorry to say, I find it frightening the stories I read about breathlessness and nothing is done. Maybe because I’m a nurse myself so I see it all in a different light. Anyway, tell yourself you’re going to get help and keep persisting til you do . Best of luck to you. Sarah
Hi Bazzer I also suffered breathlessness when I was on Sotalol , the change to Flecainide and Diltiazem reversed this quite quickly. I also researched a lot about this condition when my first cardiologist ( since replaced ) was of little help.
I found that taking Magnesium Taurate / CoQ10 and L-Carnitine totally removed the afternoon exhaustion I was constantly feeling.
You just have to find what works for you and be the instigator of your health regime rather than relying on heart specialists , get your medication right first then work on the unwanted side effects.
I used Dr Stephen Sinatra for supplemental advice and so far its been very sound.
Hello Bazzar--
I have the same symptoms as you had. Did you ever find out what was the cause?
I am so weak I can barely do anything. I also become breathless trying to do the smallest things. It came on suddenly 3-4 weeks ago. I can't get any help. I have a yearly checkup with a cardiologist next week. I hope I can make it to then and ask him. I literally feel like I am dying. I just turned 72. I need some help of some kind. I have no help whatsoever at home and I can't barely do anything.
I have COPD. I have had a couple flareups in the past few months because I was in some smoke. I went to the Emergency 3 times in one month, alone. My heart always checks out good.
