This is my first post my husband has been diagnosed with PAF and has been put on a low dose of Propafenone & Spironolactone. Had an ecg after a week of taking the meds and his QTc is borderline 479, due to have urgent 24 hour tape with serial QTc analysis and repeat ecg . Has been AF free since taking the meds. He is seeing a cardiologist who specialises in AF so is in good hands. Anybody experienced something similar?

QTc borderline
I’m not sure I understand the question?
There are various QT complications - I’m not sure what QTc borderline means? I have a QT complication with AF which is why I have a triple lead pacemaker in preparation for Pace & Ablate.
I’d read this report before and found it interesting:
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
The “borderline” QT interval region seems to be where doctors cannot be sure there are any implications, but still feel that the need to take care.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
My layman’s understanding is that anti-arrythmic drugs such as Flecainide and Propafenone can cause lengthening of the QT interval in the heartbeat which in severe circumstances is cause for concern. QTc is the reading corrected for the patient’s heart rate.
My own QTc has been slightly abnormal since I started Flecainide over 5 years ago but my cardiologist is content because it has not changed and is acceptable.
Good that Propafenone is working and that your husband is being well cared for.
