Hi

Might be worth getting in touch with Rachel in Admin to get some clarity on this.

From the recent bulletin your doctor is wrong. Sorry. This is relative new information and he probabaly is not yet up to speed. Please read that bulletin and if necessary show him a copy.

Ditto. Breakfast cereal with a banana is acceptable according to my specialist anticoagulant nurse! I too ate 20mg Riveroxaban

Probably the fat in the skimmed milk but nurse didn’t specify fatty foods. I said I ate a cereal breakfast and she said ‘it was fine’.

I read the bulletin about taking Riveroxaban with a fatty meal and asked the pharmacist about it when I picked up my latest prescription for Riveroxaban. She said she was not aware of this but said it’s a relatively new drug so they are probably finding things out about it and we are guinea pigs to some extent with a lot of drugs in her opinion. I said I have either porridge or muesli with almond milk, berries, nuts, mixed seeds, flax, chia seeds, a little cinnamon plus a dribble of honey followed by a banana and she said that should be fine as there is fat in the milk, nuts and seeds. If I remember, I might make a few copies of the bulletin to give to her, my GP and Cardiac Consultant as they probably don’t know either.

Think your right about guinea pigs the doctors and medical people shouldn't be kept in the dark .We shouldn't be taking medication on mixed opinions it's a serious matter thanks for your reply crystal bowl.
