Sorry to hear that. Take it up with centre who did last one I think
So sorry to hear that when you say permanent AF you been 24/7? A lot of people here that suffer with AF say they go in PAF and just wanted to know is that just constant AF? Many thanks
I had an ablation which failed after 2 years. Also on bisoprolol and apixaban. Apart from a little bit of breathlessness I now have very few, if any symptoms and my cardiologist explained to me that another ablation a) might not work permanently b) has risks associated and c) might not make me feel any different. We therefore concluded that staying on medication and not having another ablation would be best for me. I am in permanent persistent AF by the way.
If you are suffering badly with unwanted symptoms you should certainly pursue this but otherwise I think you need to consider what you are gaining by undergoing another ablation. Being in AF is not in itself a dangerous condition as long as you are properly medicated after all.
Hope this helps?
Hi There. I am in a very similar situation. I live in Cardiff and attend UHW. My cardioversion lasted 2 years and my consultant now wants to “manage” my persistent AF with medication. I am tired and breathless and have been advised on here to find an EP. There is one locally with an endless waiting list and he also does private work at Spire
