Hi

Im im A&e with bad chest infection which i probably picked up in hospital and laying flat so long they say....who knows what anti biotics i should avoid.... they are not sure and im too out if my head on painkillers to remember....Help!!!!

Not sure you need to avoid much but if on warfarin get INR test in a couple of days.Their pharmacy should know any contra indications my friend. Glad you went!

Sorry to hear that you’re unwell. I’ve been on antibiotics a couple of times since having AF, one time because of a bronchial infection. I can’t remember which antibiotics they were but there was no issue with them. I hope you’re feeling better soon x

Well it's a good job I've kept the box from one that was fine:

Oxytetracycline 250mg 4 times daily

Hope this isn't too late

Quite a late answer but amoxicillin is ok I think

Avoid fluoroquinolones as they can provoke serious arrythmias as well as a host of other nasties.
