I’m exactly 6 months post ablation and apart from the odd ‘skip’ I’ve been fine, but, twice in the last couple of weeks I’ve woken at 3am with my heart racing at around 90bpm and feeling very hot. It is a regular beat so not AF and Kardia showing normal, just wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced this as it frightened the living daylights out of me! I was so worried the monster AF was going to rear it’s ugly head again.
Thanks as always for listening.

Hi Maura, the thing to remember is that a heart rate between 60 and 100 is considered normal. Your heart may have been beating at 90bpm because you were hot or had been dreaming. If I hear a noise in the night, my heart rate will rise with fear and I can feel it banging in my chest. Also sometimes it's possible not to breathe correctly while asleep or awake and that can make our hearts beat a little faster or even go into AF.
Thanks for replying. My resting heart rate is usually between 60-65 bpm so this freaked me out! I’ve been in Cyprus for a month and temperatures here have been in the mid to high 30’s so extremely hot but I always have the aircon on at night so I have a very cool bedroom! Maybe I was dreaming, I don’t know, I didn’t think of that. I’m hoping it doesn’t happen again too soon x
Yes I did have this bug after 7 weeks it would wake me then started going fast but in regular turns out I somehow keep going into a junctional rhythm I’m waiting for another ablation to see if they can sort it. Was devastated felt so defeated. Yours may not be this but sound similar.
