Check up time

Hi I have par afib coming up to a year now in sept I am feeling a lot better than I did at the start but I have never had a check up by the doc or the hosital do they send for you or is that it just take my tablets and get on with it I would like to know how I am doing

I was exactly the same as you. Even had a rushed trip to A&E but still nothing from the surgery. Only when I was discussing general health with a locum that I got a referral to a Cardiologist.

I am going on hols in Sept so I am going doc myself and ask for a check up I want to go away with no worry and enjoy myself

Think you should have seen a cardiolgist at least although they would likely refer you back to GP once the usual tests such as echocardiogram had been completed. YOu should be assessed for CHADSVASC score to see if you need anticoagulation as well. Depending on age, most medical centres do anual blood tests and general health checks such as BP. cholesterol liver and kodney function and your AF should be dealt with at the same time.
