Breathlessness

I’ve had a ‘successful’ CardioVersion (the recovery from the general anaesthetic was very slow). I’m waiting for an ablation hopefully in July. My problem is since the procedure I’ve had chronic breathlessness - I can’t walk 25 yards without stopping and leaning on something. It’s gone on for months and is really bringing me down. Any suggestions please.

Really surprised about your cardiverson recovery as this is usally done under sedation (you are only out for a minute or so) rather than GA and in most cases is a complete non event. I went home on the train a few hours after one of mine with zero ill effects,

What drugs are you on for AF etc as breathlessness is a commion side effect of most of them and of coruse AF causes this also?.

Thanks Bob - I’m on bisoprolol, riveroxaban, amioderone, fuerosamide and allopurinol. I’m thinking of coming off the bisoprolol, I’ve reduced it, tapering off.

Bisoprolol will do it!
