I had an ablation for SVT in January now I was fine for 7 weeks now I can’t eat or drink without my heart going in a funny rhythm!? A junction map rhythm? Anyone had this? My Svt was happening 3 times a week before a few years back only once every few months lasting around 4 minutes now it was lasting 2 hours and really tiring me out I have a lung condition too so the two together was making me feel really rubbish. I decided for the ablation it took 3 hours they found I had atrial tachycardia & AVRNT.

I was recovering well until the 7 week mark.. then every time I eat and drink my heart goes into a really funny rhythm my nurse said it’s known as a junctional rhythm I lost a stone in weight and I only weigh 8 due to my lung condition I’m 27 I have two children and it’s getting me down I’m waiting for 2nd ablation but can’t believe my first ablation made me feel worse with what feels like worse problems this is happening everyday and I have to double think when I eat and drink I can’t enjoy anything I can’t enjoy going out for dinners and enjoy being young.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

Or 1st ablation not worked??

Anything, any experience would be greatly appreciated.

sorry to hear you are having problems. I hope it just needs a little extra work- try to press for an early ablation appt- make sure they know it's affecting your eating

Yes me too hopefully nothing they can’t fix. Just was never expecting to feel worse after and ablation... i wasn’t made aware that could even be the case otherwise I think I would have definitely give it more thought. Really took eating and drinking for granted it’s strange having to give it thought and prepare myself for my heart to go all funny!! Fingers crossed for the 2nd ablation!! :)

What you're experiencing doesn't sound nice at all. I had spell before my last ablation where if I ate lunch time and then dared to walk anywhere, my AF would kick off and make me feel really ill. Thank goodness that's all behind me now.

I felt worse after my first two ablations and had longer episodes of Af or flutter. After my third I felt better almost immediately. Those little rogue pulses seem to do their best to find another way in to disrupt our heart rhythms.

I feel for you as it's so horrible to suffer this way. Hope your second ablation really helps.

Let’s hope this next one sorts it out or even just makes it less frequent it’s so unpleasant when I eat and drink. Thanks for you kind words.
