Another year on fromlast post ,ablation ,phrenic nerve damage etc. Had a follow up appt yesterday May 8th 2019..I am in persistant AF still but that all good quality of life has improved even more in last year ,i have found it a long gradual progress from partial ablation July 2017 to where i am now, proving to me (we are not all the same) it can take much longer than you are told about recovery. Its all about quality of life not cure. Was assured at heart clinic if things got worse for me there are still options that they can take if i so desired.

So far this year i have travelled to Australia on my own for a couple of months and had a great time with family in Perth and Adelaide, and that is good quality of life.

Will update when i have anything different to add.Wishing you all well JANE

Hi Jane

I'm pleased to hear that you're happy with the way your AF is now and felt confident enough to travel to Australia. What a great achievement after all you went through.

My heart quite often goes into months of constant AF over the winter months and I too can cope with that now. I shudder when I think how awful and debilitating my attacks used to be.

We're proof that experiencing horrible attacks doesn't have to be that way for ever and forum members should never give up hope that they too will one day live a fairly normal life.

Go and see your GP and tell him/her that you wish to carry out some research on the effect of warm weather on heart problems during the winter months and would they like to fund your study in Southern Spain. Give them something to look forward to?

Ok, I'll be the one to volunteer to do that. Just to help everyone else of course 😁😊

Thanks, you have said exactly how i feel, thats what is good about this group you are understood by someone.but family and friends can't understand as they have no experience and words don't convey how you feel

Brilliant - It sounds great and I really envy you getting more confidence and control over your life - hope that over time my violent PAF attacks subside into something more manageable and that I get the confidence back to start living a more adventurous and independent life - keep up the good work!!!
