I have posted along my journey, to which I hope is a final conclusion. After battling cardiologist that didn`t want to know and looking for a surgical resolution, I finally got to an EP who was actually interested enough to work with me, despite my not tolerating most of the drugs he recommended. After a TOE on Thursday and being placed on Flecainide he came to tell me he would schedule me for an AF ablation now my clot of two years ago had resolved. Taking Flecainide has been the difference between my being breathless and being short of breath. Not a lot in it but I do feel better and hope to progress forward. Although I had a Pace & Ablate procedure the chaos still was underlying and causing the breathlessness. The Flecainide has regulated that somewhat and I feel I can go to exercising more, but slowly!
Thank you all for the support especially when I was despairing of ever improving. I feel more alive now that I have felt in three years.

It is extra pleasing because the forum has a few members who have had a harder time than many and you seemed stuck and not moving forwards for such a long time.
It is really cheering to hear what progress you have made.
I must admit it's nice to here you have had some success. It's so easy to give up.
I have had A.F. now for so long I have forgotten when it was first found. I eventually paid to see an EP specialist and then went back to my NHS cardiologist . Lots of tests and no real outcome other than my heart seems ok and that the AF has many paths. I prefer to look at it now as an irregular heart beat and just get on with living. Most of my breathlessness was side effects from tablets which have been sorted to where I can now go for walks etc all be it at a slower pace than before. Lets hear a lot more success stories.
When I was waiting for a decision of how to go forward it was embarrassing when they all came back clear. I was not happy that the breathlessness was still there and so asked for more options and this. EP was happy to work with me and so maybe I will have a chance although he reconed 50% success. Who knows!
I can go for short slow walks but I want the best I can get!
Really pleased to hear this, it has been a difficult journey for you. The relief of having an empathetic EP must be enormous, here's hoping you don't have to wait too long.
