Dr Hyman's Talks re Brain and Heart connection

I am enjoying it very much especially yesterday's submission. Looking forward to today's on heart connection. Thank you for recommending it.
Thanks for sharing Jean, all makes perfect sense doesn't it.
Jo
It certainly does. The part where it recommends mixing with like minded and not negative people made me think how I'd dropped some friends and gained others whose company I much prefer. Since retiring I also do more things that I find interesting (e.g. local history walks and talks) and joyful - volunteering as a guide at one of the National Trusts most beautiful properties. These talks by Dr Hyman give me inspiration and ideas.
Thank Jean sounds interesting I will read it later...
Thankyou so much for sharing this, it is 4:45 am here, I’m enjoying some insomnia so listening to this was very timely! I agree with all their points. I am going to start journaling today, especially gratefulness, I’ve made half hearted attempts before( no pun intended, lol)💜

You made me laugh Hoski.
In one of the talks it was suggested writing down daily three things that you're grateful for. Hmm, guess that doesn't mean the same three things each day! I'm going to try that, but am always aware of how lucky I am in life and fortunate to live in a beautiful small fishing town.
Yes, I agree. I’m 66, my life has been blessed with a great husband, kids, grandkids, not to mention my lovely collection of animals, 2 who are currently asleep, snoring on my lap! I try not to feel guilty as I look around and see people with awful losses, etc. Life is not fair. I am grateful and if it ended tonight, no regrets. Well maybe one regret, shouldnt have married #1, party animal, what was I thinking at age 22????🤣
I have the link - I have been working today but planning to watch before it expires later tonight!!
Thanks for the reminder, Jean. I just watched the Heart/Brain connection video and found it fascinating and inspiring.
I can be grateful to AF for nudging (really shoving!! 😂) me to move away from negative people and situations in my life. Now I'm grateful for that shedding, as uncomfortable as it was to go through.
I really do feel like I think from the heart now, as they described. It's been a transformation, thanks to AF. Now I look for positive and joyful people and activities and am excited about finding new ones.
In the process of watching the video, I also decided that I will politely decline working with a new prospective student who has been rather pushy, including insisting on meeting at 7pm. That's just too late in the evening for me to be working especially with a pushy, domineering person. The brain wants the money, but the heart knows better!
There's someone else I work with in 2-hour lessons who is smart and intense, yet extremely appreciative, upbeat, respectful and fun. My heart loves the type of engagement we have in our work. So interesting to have this new vetting system, compared to how I used to be.
Your peaceful fishing village sounds divine.
Just watched episode 4 and wow did I need it. Heart gone off on one mad ectopics kicking me into the middle of next week coming every few seconds in threes. Listening to the episode and about calming the heart with various techniques has helped my heart tense afternoon.
Oh no, you poor thing! I hope you soon return to normal rhythm. So has your brain been taxed today to cause this to happen?
I have found the talks very informative and enjoyable so far – as I am sure the rest will be. One piece of information that has really resonated with me is how much greater is the influence of the heart on the brain because I was taught that it was the other way around. The talks have made a lot of sense and given much food for thought.
