Resting heart rate

Afternoon all,

My Fitbit is telling me that my resting heart rate is around 60 beats per minute (I understand that these gadgets are not completely accurate), however someone told me if you have continuous A fib your heat is actually working twice as hard due to the irregular heartbeat caused by A fib. Can anyone clarify the situation for me as I am not due to see a cardiologist again for a few more weeks.

Many thanks

Will

60 is good if you are in AF The atria fibrillate and the rate is much more than double- the heart doesn't allow the extra beats to pass to the ventricles- fortunately for us!! When the rate goes about 135 I start to feel poorly- would be happy with 60 !!

Fitbit watches ignore AFib symptoms. I wear one everyday to track my sinus rhythm in the gym. If you need to track your AFib get a Kardia. In the states they are less than $100. If you're in the UK can't be that much more.
