Quick question for you. I have suffered ectopics for years now, never really been bothered by them. But today I was fine then had a doner kebab for lunch, admittedly not my normal choice of lunch lol, but afterward, I had non-stop ectopics all day.
This is unusual for me just started on Mag Taurate a couple of weeks ago and it's seemed to help reduce the ectopics, but today was horrible even though I know they are harmless.
Started my new job this week after recovering from cancer, so it's been hard having been off for the last 6 months.
Any thoughts as to why this might be worse today?
TIA

My experience is the more I think about them the worse they are. I started mag taurate a few weeks ago and felt mine were worse soon after for a few days. I came to the conclusion if anything is different ( big lunch, unusual a pudding, high fat ,high sugar etc etc) I expect ectopics. I would have thought the excitement of job won't help.
7 -11 breathing gets me through. In for 7 out for 11
Like I said it’s never really bothered me, but the frequency of them yesterday was like nothing I’ve ever experienced. It was was weird it happened after eating. I do sometimes get palps after eating a lot, but this was horrible.
Sorry to hear you’ve had a rough year health wise and are now dealing with ectopics. I had a successful PVI cryoablation for AF in Aug 2018 but occasionally suffer from ectopics. I also use the Kardia to keep an eye on things when the heart is playing up and find it reassuring. The same triggers that previously set off my AF now seem to correlate with my ectopics. (I think of ectopics as AF that can’t be sustained following ablation of accessory pathways). I’m talking here of excessive alcohol, spicy or MSG laden food, chocolate, overeating in general and lying on my left side. It might be worth going back for another doner kebab to see if that’s the culprit? I occasionally get caught out by sauces and artificial flavourings that come with processed foods. I tried Magnesium Taurate for a month or so post ablation, but did not find it effective in reducing my susceptibility to ectopics.
Thank you, it has not been the best of years in terms of health. but fingers crossed this year will be better! That Kardia was the best £100 of my money I’ve ever spent. I have used it numerous times and often during a bout of SVT or heavy ectopics, which is great to send to the arrhythmia nurses. Like you after my PVI cryoablation and RF ablation (done at the same time) I was pretty good. To be fair, i’ve not gone into AF since last May when Ihad the procedure. Oh the ticker has tried to go into AF on a few occasions, but you might be right when I go into SVT for a minute or so, or get ectopics. I was due to see the cardiologist in Feb, but it’s been delayed until May, so i’ll keep an eye on it and see where it goes.
I’ve just had a Pot Noodle, so laden with MSG, and i’ll see how I get on. But I guess it’s trying to identify the triggers.
I’m not sure so far if the Mag Taurate is working, and it’s not cheap. I don’t mind if it works, but if I am not really seeing a benefit i’ll stop it.
I notice if I am tired I get them more, so today I had a nice sleep and at work i’ve not had one ectopic as far as I can tell.
Stress is a huge trigger for me. I started full spectrum CBD oil and Mag Oxide 500mg about a month ago and I rarely have ectopic.
My B/P has also come down with in normal range.
It could be due to decreasing stress, drinking less red wine and the medications. I hope you get yours under control quickly.
If I have one I purposefully cough hard and it also helps stop them.
I suffer from ectopics and from my experience are totally random. I was cardio verted for the 3rd time a few weeks ago. Prior to that I hadn't had any ectopics for a number of weeks and felt great. Since then, they've slowly come back, although not as prevalent as they once were. Most likely down to the 2.5mg of bisoprolol the A&E doctor put me on.
Today they seem to be on the decrease slightly. The sad thing is I've changed absolutely nothing in my diet or lifestyle in the last few days that would correlate with the slight reduction. The only thing I can think of is that I started taking magnesium taurate again a few weeks back. I've stopped taking them for the last few days. I'm pretty convinced that they cause more ectopics for me rather than reducing them. Who knows, it's a mystery to me whilst I still await my cardiologists referral from last September grrrr!
Certain foods, artificial sweeteners, MSG or eating too much always up the number of ectopics I have in a day. Maybe the kebab was too much. Job stress, being in a rush or being upset or even very happy or excited will up my ectopics. Let your digestive system do its job and take a deep breath to de-stress and it will be better tomorrow.
