Feeling rough today.

It is twelve days till my Ablation. I am feeling really rough today, so breathless and tired and only comfortable when lying or sitting down. I would be grateful for any advice please. Thanks in advance! Sewing Scissors.

Do you know what your heart is doing right now? Are you in AF with an irregular beat, or flutter an even beat, but fast. Do you have tachycardia, where the heart is racing?

Only when we know this can we try to help.

Are you sleeping well at night and what medication are you on? Is the way you are feeling today typical of how you normally feel, or different?

Hoping to help you if I can.

Big hug and here for you.

Jean

Yes..if you’re in rhythm then I would suspect that it is a vagus nerve issue. Do you have pain in your solar plexus?

Could be. I don’t have pain and feel better now I am resting properly. I must learn from that! Thanks for your interest. All the best.

Thank you so much. I am told I have Atrial Flutter. My heart races when I have been a bit active and then calms down when I rest. I don’t sleep well and take Bisoprolol, Warfarin and Furosemide. Today I have been feeling worse than I usually feel but there could well be reasons for that. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and I will be one day nearer feeling much better! Thank you so much for your interest. I will let you know how things go. All the best.

I get days like this, I had one a couple of days ago, when I got up from bed and sat in my recliner with a cup of decaf earl grey tea, I fell back to sleep. But later walking around I really felt out of sync unwell too but soon as I sat down I was okay. Can’t explain it. I also have type 1 diabetes and dealing with the recent death of my partner too so possibly a combination of all sorts going on at once.

Thank you so much for your reply which I found very helpful. I am so sorry for your loss, it must make things so much harder for you. I am sure you are right about a combination of events making things worse. I am pleased you have a recliner chair! Mine is such a help to me and like you, I drop off to sleep in it. I hope you weren’t holding the cup at the time! Are you waiting for an Ablation, how long is it likely to be? Mine is on the 14th Feb, which my son assures me is an excellent date for a heart op! Let’s hope he’s right! All the best and do keep in touch if you would like to 😊

Thank you sewingscissors, and with that name you must like sewing and knitting? My partner of 24yrs loved doing crochet. Death of a wife/husband/partner especially if you were best mates/soul mates etc... you feel physically ill for a while as she passed away 8 Jan so it’s still fresh on your mind. I know time heals, so I’ll just have to adjust as time moves on. I’ve lost my father and sister, so I’m no stranger to close bereavement. No, don’t have an ablation date as the hosp haven’t mentioned that. I do have a leaky valve which they’re keeping an eye on. Yes, your son is right Valentines day a great day for it and good luck.
