I have been told I have to take Apixaban for at least 3 months before I can have an ablation can anyone tell me why please

To ensure that you do not have any clots lurking in your heart that could either kill you or leave you seriously hadicapped by a stroke. You will likely have to remain on anticoagulants for some time afterwards although many of us choose not to stop at all if we have other risk factors.

Thank you BobD. This us a lovely friendly place to get answers without feeling a twit asking them.

I was started on this as it was a much more suitable anticoagulant for me than Warfarin. Good luck!
