Post ablation concerns

I had ablation 2days ago today i coughed up phlem with blood in it first this morning and then at noon and a 3rd TIME a little less each time is this normal?

Most likely the TOE scratched your throat. Do read our fact sheet on recovery from ablation . Rest and more rest and lots of water.

No more blood in my phlegm thats good,today is my 5day after procedure I'm a little mote sluggish today, I'm also diabetic so i don't know if thats the reason, GEEZ thought be feeling good by now?

No, I don't think it's normal at all. If the blood was dark then that would indicate that it was old and probably caused by the procedure. If bright red than that would indicate a fresh bleed. Was it just slight traces of blood, or a lot?

It was dark , its stopped now, thanks not fun stuff

I had similar but soon got better. If your throat doesn't continue to get better see your GP but if worse particularly with fever call 111 or go to A&E. An ablation can be very irritating to your oesophagus but that should heal up quickly. Are you taking a PPI (medicine for acid reflux)?

Not normal but can understand why it might happen. Did they prescribe Lansoprazole or similar, if not, try Gaviscon but if it continues you need to contact the hospital

I had the same but was told by the nurse it was normal and she was not concerned. It did clear up after 3/4 days. If it goes on ring the arythmia nurse to check it out.

I got this one morning it was red blood and then I noticed I had a blood blister at the back of my throat and ask doctor next time I saw him and he said that’s where it was from and not to worry as I get blood blisters some times they leave red circle where they have been
