Bronchoscopy

Hello all,

A happy new year and good health to you all.

I wondered if any of you have had a Bronchoscopy, and if so, whether it gave you an arrhythmia?

I aspirated some meat back in October and it is looking like I will need a Bronchoscopy. The respiratory doctor told me the mortality rate is 1 in 100 which seems exceptionally high And made me worry about an arrhythmia even more as it is one of the listed side effects.

I’d love to hear any experiences, good or bad.

Sorry,no I haven't but wanted to send best wishes for the New Year.

It does sound exceptionally high rates ,but even so.. 99 out of 100 get well.....I imagine you are quite fearful in regard to the AF. Are you able to speak with the surgical team to ask the question?

I just popped over to the NHS site,there's a good booklet from Southampton Hospital,says it's a safe procedure ......might help you to read it?
