Could anyone tell me what Vagal af and tacky af are , are they anything to do with svt. Also does anyone have episodes from quick eye movement or the tilting of the head, know it sounds stupid but you know when you know your own body, due my ablation next week but just thought I would share some thoughts x Ursula

No. AF is AF is AF. Vagal AF merely suggests that the episodes are p brought on by imbalance in the vagus nerve,. the main neural super highway between brain and many organs like stomach and heart. people said to have vagal AF usually find episodes staret either when sleeping or after large meals. "tachy" just means fast AF which cn be just the same if vagally mediated or form another source.

SVT or supra ventricular tachycardia means fast heart (tachycardia) where the signals are coming form above (supra) the ventricle.

To be clear here most people with AF have a fast rate when in an episode and slow AF whilst not impossible is actually quite rare. Rates can be anything from 120 to 220+ bpm with an irregular non rhythm. SVT may be fast rate but regular.

To continues definitions , Bradycardia (slow heart rate) is considered below 60 and Tachycardia (fast heart ) above 100. As a doctor once told me when they do not want patients to understand things they give them Greek or Latin names.
