Merry Christmas to you all π...... just a quick update: my Cryoablation on 7th September this year seems to have done the job so far. After several ups and downs for the first couple of months I have had a gradual improvement and this week for the first time this year I have had zero symptoms at all, not even a single palpatation. I know AF is a crafty bugger and may be lurking but compared to pre ablation, at the moment I am feeling 100% better. I hope you are all doing well and for those reading this who are considering an ablation, of course listen to your EP but don't fluff about just take the professional advice and go for it........have a wonderful Christmas break & God bless.

Hi Dave
I am similar age to you (53) were you on any drugs pre ablation and have you been able to come off them ? I am seriously thinking about the ablation route.
All the best
Andy
Hi Andy, ive been on flecainide and bisoprolol for 5 years since a cardioversion in 2013. I am seeing my EP on Wednesday for a post op review so things may change I hope. I was also put on a anticoagulant after the ablation so I expect to be on that for a while... If you need any info just ask il always do my best to help you ππ
Thanks very much, sounds similar to me on flecainde, bisoprolol and apixaban (due to previous high BP) managed to get rid of the high BP through weight loss but I think it's left me with AF. Seriously tempted to go for one as I think I would be low risk for complications. Got a review in Jan so I will ask them ! Thanks for the reply, all the best !
Andy
Best wishes to you as well mate, my decision to have the ablation was based on the symptoms getting worse this year, they went from monthly to weekly to daily within 6 months so it was a no brainer. Glad I've had it done and a second one if needed would be done without hesitation now I know what to expect. It's not a pleasant experience as with any medical procedure but it's over in a few hours and the benefits can be massive if you look after yourself post ablation and have a bit of luck as well. Rgs Dave.
Well done and I hope your good health lasts forever.
Good to hear you are doing so well. Have a lovely Christmas and all the best for 2019
