Hi guys, apologies.. I know I disappeared for a while with out explanation and I'm sorry to all those who cared so much, I've been in a sludge of depression with this bloody ticker.
Things have become worse my fib/flutter has been a constant pain in the ass but now I have atrial tachycardia...horrible. I have been to A&e with heart rate of 200plus and cardioverted 4 times now. Anyway at long last I have a date for my ablation...4th January in Leeds. I can't cope with these arrhythmias no more I'm constantly scared of the 200bpm coming back. All medications have failed...plus went to Specsavers today and have fatty deposits because of the amiodarone...im off it now thank God as it wasn't working anyway.
Not all bad news though...this 200bpm has forced to to have the ablation... as I always said NO WAY before this started and now in a strange way I'm looking forward to it as this is no life I'm living at the moment.( Although I'm sure I will be like Greta Garbo on the day of the procedure)

Lovely to hear from you again Sarah, but sorry with regards to what you've been going through.
AF is a hateful condition, that strikes fear in us all when we have bad attacks. As for Amiodarone, well I'm surprised they're still allowed to prescribe it! It has permanently damaged my thyroid.
Your ablation date isn't too far away now and I really hope it will be a success for you. Let us know nearer the time and we'll send lots of good wishes.
Thanks Jean. I'm so glad to be off Amiodarone...i didn't think I had any bad side effects until Specsavers, the optition said it's very common to have issues with ppl on it. Ive been off it for 2 weeks and certainly don't feel worse for it...i don't think it worked too well anyway! Yep I will certainly be checking in more. Xxoxx
I'm not sure what a full blood test entails, but know it doesn't include the thyroid unless your doctor asks for that. My thyroid symptoms were extreme lack of energy and needing to sleep in the afternoon. I can look at all my test results online at home, it's a service my surgery offers. x
I will check with Doc tomorrow but I'm sure I've been tested. I know what you mean about been sleepy in the afternoon...its the 10mg Nebivolol I think...need the ablation asap as I've even started watching Judge Rinder Arghhhh!! xxxx

Hello Booboo, sorry to hear that you have had such a difficult time but at least it has prompted you to go ahead with an ablation which hopefully will mean a good start to 2019. Try not to be too much like Greta Garbo though, I think she died in 1990!!!

After many years of AF my rhythm changed from AF to Atrial Tachycardia following an ablation.
Once my EP was confident it was Atrial Tachycardia, he told me that this was good news. He said that on balance AT is much easier to treat AF.
I then had an ablation for AT in August last and now whilst my PAF comes back for short bursts from time to time the episodes are much less frequent and seem to be easier to treat with PIP.
Despite the fact that I am not totally free of this accursed condition my QOL is now significantly better than before.
I know it is a few weeks until your ablation all things must pass and before you know it the day will be here.
In the meantime try and relax as much as you can. I found that as the Atrial Tachycardia was with me 24/7, believe it or not I found that although not ideal it was more tolerable than the uncertainty of the unexpected episodes of AF.
Cheers Pete x x Did you tachy bursts go over 200bpm...mine happens when in flutter and make a me really ill. On my notes it says 1:1 conduction...they tell me not to worry but easier said than done eh!! xxx
My Tachycardia was circa 120bpm resting. It went up to around 150-160bpm when active.
I made the decision to carry on regardless.
It was during the 2017 heatwave. I had a new allotment so went digging at 05:15. I managed but on reflection was probably not ine of my best cunning plans.
Sorry to hear that you have been struggling with all of this. I sympathise , I have suffered (and am currently suffering) from depression, some of which I attribute to AF, the drugs, the worry..........
But stay positive January will soon be here and you can get your life back
Hi... Sorry to hear your so depressed...its awful isn't it. I've tried all sorts...CBT...EMDR...nothing works. I know deep down that if the ablation is a success it will help but without sounding pessimistic I don't think I will ever be free of the fear just have to learn to live with it...joy!!! xox
Thanks for your kind words. Got a lot of external stuff going on that is the cause of most of my problems. But I agree, I don't think we'll ever be rid of the worry of AF
Best wishes for a successful ablation in Jan. I have also been referred by my cardio to electrophysiologist for an ablation. Will probably be quite a wait though. Keep us posted. ☘️🍀

Hi boohoo73 January seems to be the month for ablation! I am going for mine on the 23rd. I have just been put on Amiodrarone and I am getting cardioversion on the 20th of Dec. Please let me know how you get on. Best of luck
Hi, sorry for not getting back sooner, just seen your post. I've not been on here as I m doing anything but think about ablations until 4th Jan, even kept busy cleaning to stop me thinking...now that is a miracle!! Good luck with the Cardioversion, they are honestly nothing to worry about, I have had 4 now. Will look out for your post on the 20th when you have had it done....Good Luck! x x x
