Before the ablation i suffered from atrial fibrillation. After the ablation, i suffer from rapid heartbeats usually around 150-160 bpm. I've been told that some of the signals may have reconnected after pulmonary vein isolation much to my dismay. I feel like the ablation made it worse, and my heart is working even harder! Now have been put on waiting list for another ablation in a couple of months to hopefully fix this. Anybody else heard or suffer from this?
Also, when it happens it typically lasts for a few hours, at which point should i go to the hospital or is it even worth it to go?
Thanks

Yes ny last but one ablation was followed by Atrial Tachycardia which was stopped by a subsequent ablation. I have been much more stable in the past 18 months.
Regarding attending hospital it is not necessary to go if your episodes only last a few hours. However if you remain out of rhythm and/or you have any bad symptoms or chest pain then it would be worthwhile albeit itvis not the same for everyone nor is hours in ED/A&E to be taken lightly.
Yes that happened to me but second ablation improved things and my arrythmias abated for about 3 years, they returned again but were much less symptomatic and I have never had the sustained high heart rates I suffered pre ablations and post 1st ablation.
