AF to SVT?

Hi I have had AF for over 11years using flecainide and atenolol to keep it under control .I would normally get the odd af episode once or twice a year lasting up to a hour or so .However over the past few weeks I have been loads of etcopics and very short episodes of svt lasting up to 1 mins on a daily basis or a slow heart rate of around 40 beats per min for up to 30 secs.but no AF .My GP has increased the atenolol by 25mg which hasn't really improved the situation. The other weird change is normally in the past I have had to sleep more sitting up to keep the AF at bay but now lying done sleeping on either side isn't really an issue.Anybody experienced a similar change in their symptoms ?

Quite a lot of different things may be causing these changes in heart rhythm and you need to find out exactly what is going on for your doc to choose the right treatment. You either need a 24 hour (or longer) heart monitor or to get yourself an AliveCor phone ECG gadget to record the irregular beats at home and show it to your cardiologist.
