I have just been told I'm to take flecanide twice a day morning and night. I take Lansoprazole in the morning not sure how long to leave it before taking the flecanide does anyone else take both. Also starting on 100mg which I'm worried about as at the moment I take 50mg as pill in pocket feeling apprehensive.

On the Flecainide, as RosyG mentioned last time, it can provoke quite fast atrial flutter. So a beta blocker is added to prevent this. That could be your problem. Maybe call your GP before starting the higher dose unless your EP has been very clear that atrial flutter with Flecainide has been ruled out.

A Kardia device might be quite useful here. It can sometimes help spot atrial flutter which is .basically regular with so called sawtooth p waves quite often. Just a thought.

Makes no difference when you take either as they do not generally conflict. Why do you take Lanzoprazole?

I am taking both. I take them at the same time with no apparent issues.

Mind you I often wonder how nothing does happen when I take my cocktail of various tablets each day.

I take my lanzoprazole at 7am every morning and I take 100mg of flecanide at 10 am and 100mg at 10 pm. I have no problems. Good luck hope all goes well.

Does that mean you have eaten before your 10am tab I thought it had to be taken on an empty stomach?

I have breakfast about 7.40 so that’s approximately two hours before my flecanide.

Hi Molyn, I take my Omeprazole which is similar at 7am on waking and 50gms flecainide an hour later before breakfast and another at 8pm before bed. No bad reactions yet and I've been on this for a few years now.

How long do you wait after taking your flecanide before eating breakfast. Thanks for your help.

I used to take the flecainide with a lass of water only 20 mins before breakfast I did not have any time in the morning when going to work. if I left it until I got to work no was worried I would forget it and again owing to work, if i left it I would need to take the second tab at 8pm wich is when I am having my evening meal.

I never had any problems with this. The only time I had AF when taking flecainide was when I forgot to take a tab one saturday evening, and it kicked off the following morning as I woke up!

I leave half an hour between the two so lanzaprole at 7 am and flecanide and bisoprolol at 7.30. Theres no reason for this it is just me not wanting to swallow lots of tsblets in one go!

It seems to work fine. X
