Hi folks, I’ve havent written in almost two years but still read your inspirational posts. I’ve had a long journey with PAF and finally scheduled a cryiablation for Oct 24. I thought two years ago I was ready but I allowed fear to get the best of me. So many of you supportive people listened to me and answered all my questions over the years and with a grateful heart I thank you all. I am very nervous but I believe in the skills of my EP and know this is the right time for me to be done with this beast that’s been disrupting my life for over ten years. I will be back to the group for sure as soon as am up and around! Good health to all!

Hi Grace,
Once you’ve had your ablation you will wonder what all the fuss was about. I had one a few months ago (although RF rather than cryo) and it really is a straightforward and well-established procedure for the patient. Don’t forget to read the AF Association’s factsheets ‘Preparing for an ablation for atrial fibrillation’ and ‘Recovering from ablation for atrial fibrillation’ :
