At home again

Thanks for your messages and thoughts everyone. My cardiologist/EP saw me late today and said that he didn't want me sent home from hospital last night unsupervised with unstable blood pressure and a blood clot in my heart. He has switched me from Apixiban to Pradaxa so hopefully that will help. I was on Apixiban for 4 weeks after my cardioversion in April. A few days after the cardioversion I was diagnosed with Shingles and nerve pain a week or so later. It was the same back pain I had yesterday and the same symptoms with my BP shooting up. Yesterday it went from 97/77 at lunchtime to 177/136 mid afternoon. On reflection it seems the Apixiban may have contributed to my nerve pain in April. I am still on medication for postherpetic neuralgia. I will be so glad when I can get off some of these drugs (but happy to keep taking anticoagulants if it protects me from clots and strokes). I'm glad I'm not trying to work at the moment (in June my specialist told me to take 6 months off).

Thanks. It’s winter here - cold and rainy. Id love some warmth and sunshine 🌞

Have a speedy recovery and, who knows, there is so much interest in a -fib

research something new that allows us to thrive on less cardiac meds of all types may be just around the corner. I've been retired from nursing 12 years after working for 40 and I am always amazed at how easy, less traumatic, and more successful cardiac care is than when I first started working. Even in the last 8 years of a fib my treatments have gotten smoother, more successful and less traumatic. Take care. irina

Fingers crossed for you and a boring recovery/progress no more drama!
