So before the hot weather changes Suppose to be next week I believe .I was wondering what everyone would love to do whilst the suns out Let's find ways to cheer us up a little instead of all our aches and pains taking over Even if it's just in our imagination it can be a reality

I have just read that the Met Office are forecasting that this hot spell could last through until October. But if the ‘weather’ people cant accurately predict tomorrows weather i treat the news with some scepticism.

Vonnieruth in reply tojonjub

Well I hope it doesn't last till then Enough is enough I think now

I just want it to go away as I have really suffered this year. The weather for our area shows the temperature drastically dropping after Tuesday. Flippin typical that is as on Tuesday morning I've got to have another 24 hour tape and I can't help but feel that the cooler weather would be better for that! My heart rate is always well up in the heat.

Vonnieruth in reply to

Ohh dear Is this just a check up for you

in reply toVonnieruth

It is being repeated because on the last one my heart rate suddenly went up to 180bpm in the evening and I was only sat on the bed doing nothing. Then in the early hours of the morning it dipped right down the other way and apparently my heart paused 5 times for a couple of seconds fairly close together. The hospital doctors letter that was sent to my GPs has apparently suggested in his own words that "there seems to be some sort of tachy-brady syndrome going on" quite frankly I don't think they have a clue.

I want to go on a picnic with my grandchildren, we haven't been on one yet this year :-( .

I always do the food including home made bread ,cakes and jellies made with fresh fruit/ juice.

We usually go to the ground of a local Castle and have a lovely day .

What would you like to do Vonnie :-)

Too late for me!!! Weather has returned to 'normal' here on the west coast of Scotland. Warm and cloudy, still nice. Been wonderful!!! Able to plan ahead for a while now without thinking about the rain!!!! Maybe a bit too hot further South. We've been to Aviemore for a couple of weeks & Portavadie for 10 days or so. Fabulous as the sun shone & no midges!!! Hopefully off to France in September but my husband is terrified in case my AF goes ape!!! How about you Vonnieruth? A spot of skinny dipping maybe?

Vonnieruth profile image
Vonnieruth in reply toPetrified

Lol don't know about the dipping I'm feeling skinny though Lost two stone since I got sick and the anxiety kicked in

I could afford it Was always a stick till I stopped smoking then piled it on

I am looking forward to riding my horse again. Now that the years are catching up with me, my riding may only be for an hour of walking around our place, but it is so relaxing. Im lucky to have a sweet gentle horse who has more whoa than go, he loves attention and Im pretty sure he doesnt mind not breaking a sweat!!! His name is Brumby. He may be part puppy dog, as his personality is similar, lol.

Wow! I was never a great rider, always chose horses you would put a child on, but have been a horse lover since birth, lol. Had to marry a man with a horse to get my first horse😉 Now we have been together 40 yr, many horses later.

Loving this post Vonnie. It's made me laugh and given my imagination a good shake-up. I just need to win the lottery to make my sunny dreams come true - so many expensive flights involved and so much dieting to get down to too thin 😂

Hope I haven't been a bad influence with the champagne I've enticed you with lol xx

Vonnieruth,

Thank you for always thinking of others and being so supportive. (My brain scan was clear by the way, other than some mild atrophy), and I deleted the post as not to frighten anyone.

I do love seeing the sunny skies and feeling warm versus cold on my skin. I do not care much for winter so I have been thinking of how to be a snowbird on limited budget. I have spent some days researching. I am thinking of going to Bluffton, SC in October to rent an apartment for $900 a month-has pool and good weather mostly year round. I would give up my apt here which is a whopping $1700 per month (near Georgetown and American University). I have a camp site in Virginia I could stay at when I want to come back here during the summer as I do not enjoy too much heat either. But .... those things in my mind only since the summer here will be closing down soon. I dont swim here because of the parking and logistics of getting to the pool. Swimming daily would help me so much! The pool in SC is very accessible and year round.

So-to more specifically answer your question-I’m spending time trying to figure out how to extend these sunny skies. Climate change has me a little worried about moving too. More flooding and storms everywhere—I want to make sure I am in an area that has resources to handle disasters since they appear to be more common now .

The weather has definitely cooled in Norn Ireland but we still managed a picnic this afternoon on the beach on Belfast Lough. There were some people swimming in the sea but looked a bit too cool for my liking x

I wish I lived nearer the coast. My ideal day would be a day or 2 in Wales, the North Coast where I spent all my childhood holidays from 9 months old up to the age of 19. Would be even better if it was calm and sunny, not too hot and not too many people! Maybe a bit of beach cricket, the odd bit of ice cream and some photography!
