has any one had a sucessful cardioversion after being in AF for many years??

Seldom I would say. Some may if accompanied by amiodarone over a three month period.

Hi Anne was on amiodarone for 8 weeks and then had a successful conversion last May. Off the amiodarone for months and so far didn’t flip back. I pray everyday that I don’t flip back.

I had my last cardioversion 2 years ago after 32 months being in AF

With flecainide 50mg x 2 I havent had one single episode since.

Prior to the last cardioversion I had been on sotalol for many years and had four other cardioversions , each worked between four months and eighteen months.

So for me it has been finding the right specialist and the right drug mix.
