I had my two yearly eye test today and was chatting to the chap whom usually does my tests. I know he has AF as a result of years of surfing, bike racing and triathlons etc., so asked him how he was. He'd been bad for a couple of weeks with a summer cold thing and was sill coughing a lot (gee thanks mate) but said that he had given up racing since the diagnosis as he liked living. Wise fellow even if he does still train .
One thing I would recommend is that if you are every offered OCT (optical CT scan) then pay for it. The £40extra gives you a fantastic record of your ocular health which can be used to refer to on future occasions thus spotting early any changes which may later cause problems. Happy to say that my optical nerves and macular are all in good health and I am still able to spot that police car a mile up the motorway.
