Had my elective gall bladder op ( and without the aid of brave socks !!) and now in day 2 post op... I’m told by my surgeon my PAF behaved well throughout the procedure and so far post op it seems perfectly stable ... except for the expected discomfort resulting from the procedure itself ... thanks again to all of you who replied with your fantastic advice and support ... you made a difference .

It's over. The only way is up but take it steady and as Bob says lots of fluids. This has 2 advantages, keeps yo u hydrated and means you have to move about!

Good to hear all went well. I had mine done in 2005 in Braga, Portugal, amazingly clean and efficient. I didn't eat the first day and the second had some yoghurt, boy did that taste good! What has amazed me since is that I can cope no problem without it, yes I avoid large chunks of Brie cheese and other very fatty meals but live on a full fat diet as it is now being accepted that this is the healthiest. Good luck!
