This post has nothing to do with AF.

We went to Salisbury today and had lunch near the Maltings.

The restrictions had been lifted today and the owner of the cafe said that after weeks of really awful business, today was as if someone had just turned the lights on with customers returning in droves.

Such good news that I had to share.

Great to near Pete. I was at Castle Combe and to avoid he dreadful M5 car park came down nearly as far as Salisbury before heading west!

Hi Pete, I was in Salisbury for the first time a month or so ago. What a beautiful place! Good to hear that the restrictions have been lifted.

Am I allowed to suggest a restaurant on here? Suggest you try in the Close next to the Rifles museum. Brilliant.

Do businesses affected for such a long period get any help or compensation?

Yes the government has given Salisbury a grant but I have sneaky suspicion that it that whilst hopefully the businesses will recover the losses will be difficult to fully be compensated for.

SORRY - I live in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Why are you doing this on a health site?

Just general interest for my many friends on this site who live in the UK.

If you don’t know why google Salisbury you will find all the background reasoning.

99% of my posts are AF related so don’t worry I will soon get back to the subject.

After 26+ years with AF sometimes I want a break.

Like a coffee break away from illness.

Hi HartGurl. I live in Atlanta also. I enjoy it when sometimes we get 'off-topic' for a little while.Lightens the load and helps me know other posters a little better. Good to know another Atl member. Take care. irina1975 PS I've visited Salisbury in the 90's when my sister was married and living in the UK. It's beautiful. Wish I were there now (away from Atlanta traffic).
