I had a CV back in the first week of March. Prior to that I had fits of incredible dizziness and on two occasions collapsed and smashed my face to bits. I was diagnosed with AF and was in hospital 3 weeks and had the CV. Up until today things have been great. This morning I missed my Bisoprolol and at 1700 this afternoon had a (minor) falling/dizziness episode. It was then I realised I hadn’t taken my Bisoprolol (long story as to why won’t bore you).
I checked my HR and BP.
I have been doing every hour since, whilst BP has been largely fine my HR was 130 and over and more importantly had the dreaded wobbly heart symbol next to it denoting irregular heart beat. So basically I am/was back in AF.
I took the missed dose ASAP and my HR is now down to 90-95 but the dreaded symbol is still there in 50% of readings so will have to see tomorrow what happens. I do hope it just goes away I really don’t want all that crap again.
I just hope it was down to the missed dose but something tells me otherwise...

I think with your AF problems ( balance and fainting ) I would get an ECG , as the bp monitors will show irregularities on AF and ectopic beats , best to be aware of which it is
to put your mind at rest. And at worst if in AF , get another CV.
Yeah am waiting for GP to open will then ring. HR resting is now down to 55ish however as soon as I walk to the kitchen it shoots up to 120+ and I’m still getting the symbol 😬
If you have the contact details of the AF nurse at the hospital, I would call her rather than the GP. May fast track you back into the system to sort out.
Good idea but not even sure if the hospital has an AF Nurse...certainly wasn’t introduced to one when in hospital...I was on the cardiac ward so I guess I could try ringing them...
Am in Hospital room now awaiting whether they do 2nd CV tonight or tomorrow. Went to GP and had ECG, he rang Hospital directly and arranged for me to be admitted straight away. Had every test under the Sun at least once and they are almost convinced my problem is an Atrial Flutter not Fibrillation. They are also talking of an Ablation at a later date as AFlutter has a much higher success rate than AFibrilation. Fingers crossed.
