Morning everyone yesterday’s Ablation was a complete success

A few hitches along the way and I feel like I’ve been punched in the chest by a boxer and very low BP but I do feel better for it

I go home later today from hospital

So glad to hear it was a success. Please make sure you have plenty of rest over the next few weeks. The areas in your heart that have been treated now need a bit of time to heal. You may find you get periods of feeling well and others of great tiredness. Don't go overdoing it in those well periods.

Wishing you well

Jean

Well done, now rest rest and rest some more for at least 2 weeks. Done worry if you get little bumps and runs along the way it takes at least 3 months for the heart to heal and I think 6 months in my case.

Its not a sprint but a marathon....let your body recover for as long as it needs. Best of luck :-)

Did they put you under or were you awake? How long was the op?

Babyr1996 profile image
Babyr1996 in reply tocjsabc

I was awake but heavily sedated it 4 hrs I gave them a few problems along the way so not quite as straight forward it should only have taken 2 hrs

I was awake. No noticeable sedative. Four hours no break. Extraordinary pain crescendos. The surgeon told me he'd pause if I reached my pain threshold n just to indicate. And I did and he did. Watched the op on video live.

I must have been lucky. I went in on a Wednesday, four hour fully conscious op (painful) on Thursday morning, discharged Friday totally pain free, flew long haul Saturday, back at the desk Monday feeling excellent. AF free for four years now. Wish you a speedy recovery Babyr!

So happy for you. I'll have mine in a week at Beaumont hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Since I have it for 5 years and persistent, my chance of success is only 40%. Just hate taking meds everyday. Wish me luck!

Brilliant! I'm so pleased for you.

Now's the time to take to the sofa and put your feet up with a good book, film or favourite TV show!
